Project2

Drum roll please.....TA DA!! It's the dinosaur skirt. I've been working on it for a while with the lovely Joanne Thomas who didn't really think we could do it, I spent many a night crunching my brain because it decided to try and think in 3D at 2am. Not amused.

People keep asking, "what does your skirt look like?". REALLY not easy to describe. Or photograph. But cool anyway.

Because I have a teensy tiny bit of a Bourdin obsession, all my photoshoots end up with a SLIGHT domestic-abuse-chic thing going on. He was brilliant. Once again, people looked over the banister and thought I had broken one of my legs. Oops.

Wedding Shoes

Continuing with my SLIGHTLY premature wedding plans (I am only nineteen, and I am only just at uni, and I am quite definitely single) I've been looking at beautiful shoes.

First I thought... Llorraine Neithardt

THEN I thought....if you're going to have really special shoes, you may as well get ones in a colour so that they stand out! And at that point I thought....MANOLOS

And while I was thinking about them...I found the most amazing wedding shoes ever.

SO...life mission is to find a man tall enough to allow me to wear these down the aisle.
Wish me luck!

When Gala Stole Pudsey

Us ickle fashion firsties had our first fashion show this week! The theme was children in need so we had to be very smiley, hence I look like a maniac in these photos (which are thanks to Mark Timmons)

Another photo of my fabuluzzzz shirt, as modeled by Joanne.
I can't remember whose shirts I was wearing...I think Beth Edwards, Zoe McArthur and Lucy Denholm, but for the life of me I cannot remember their partner's names, so PLEASE email me and I will edit this to include you.

I was first out...because I KNOW NO FEAR. Particularly when I have a mane...which I did thanks to the college salon. I loved my hair...my hairdresser left me with the triangle of fabric to make it look like an eye patch! Clever huh?

Backstage, models eating yellow cake. mmmm.

This is when I stole Pudsey's head. I think there is a video of me being a backing dancer doing the Beyonce Single Ladies dance with Pudsey somewhere...I HAVE TO FIND IT. Basically you can't tell the difference between Pudsey and Beyonce. Because he was THAT GOOD.

Vitamins

Vitamins are such a pretty colour that I made a self portrait of them. I wonder who decides what colour to make pills? mm.

Cold as Ice Cream but still as sweet.

I thought I would take some time to explain an few of the images I loaded a while ago, since I somewhat neglected it at the time.
We had to photograph our shirt, and I had a quirky idea which has been brewing in my mind for a while about photographing someone falling out of a washing machine, which followed on from my self-portraits last year where I was climbing out of a wardrobe. I find it really interesting making images with models with really awkward and unusual concepts and angles and poses that I often end up modelling myself because I can’t find anyone who really GETS it. My best friend who I lived literally an arms distance from in boarding school for two years, and within throwing distance for another four, used to be an amazing model for me, and did all sorts of bizarre photo shoots in odd places and clothes and poses (Laura, I totes owe you). Joanne really liked my concept though, and being very beautiful and tall was very willing to model for me. We did it late at night to ensure that we got the machines empty and that there weren’t going to be the distractions of shooting in a functioning Laundromat. We started by shooting her, and swapped over so that she could put a picture of me in her portfolio which was great because it meant I could do some of the freaky, uncomfortable poses that I couldn’t really explain very well. It also meant we could style it in two different ways. Unfortunately, the shirt had no buttons so we had to pin it which meant I kept stabbing myself in the neck. But that’s fashion for you I suppose.

La vie en rose

Candy floss as an accessory? Yes please!

Funky little head-band and snazzy lacy number- I LOVE THIS VIBE

Plaid shirts are normally real nasty, but with a little lacy dress? On a carousel? YES PLEASE

I love love love love these photos from Free People's look book and blog. I absolutely love the twenties...might have to channel some of this for tomorrow as an outfit. And then hang around in a poorly lit cafe/on a carousel. I wish.

Poppies

I like to wear my poppy for as long as possible, as soon as I see them being sold I start wearing it. The keyboard I'm using today is a bit funny so if I miss the occasional consonant forgive me. I know people are probably sick of seeing me in this flapper dress, they are certainly sick of me getting tangled with them, but tough. I love it.

Sneak peak

This is one night worth of sewing buttons onto some denim shorts for Kirsty's birthday. We saw some we really liked in "All Saints" and decided to make our own using all the spare buttons kicking around. I love how they look so far, hope you do too.

If I was taller I could be a model. If I was shorter I could be a dwarf.

Anyone for some washing?

Chilling out in a washing machine. There was no reason for us to sit in them, other than it was funny.

This is my fave.

"I think about you all the time. Except for when I think about cake. mmmm, cake."

Today was no where near as warm as it looks in this photo, which was a pure fluke between my "meeting the mentors" and working in the sewing workshop. I woke up stupidly early to write an essay and ended up sorting out the loops on this dress instead for an hour! Then it was too late to do any proper work so I obsessed over a boy for a bit and then headed out to meet the fourth year FDI students- their work is amazing and I am so excited to work with them, it was so awful having to pick out just three who I wanted to work with. Later I have some fun photo-taking plans with Joanne. Can't wait.

I'm wearing my flapper dress from H&M, a red jumper from River Island, super-super long leggings from New Look, and my BOOTS from Superdry and my beautiful Drift leather bag.
